South Shields have confirmed that striker Gavin Cogdon has left the club.
The 36-year-old has been a resounding success since joining the Mariners from Spennymoor Town in the summer of 2016, helping the club to five trophies. Cogdon scored 56 goals in 107 games for the South Tyneside club.
His departure comes following the completion of his contract, and as managers Graham Fenton and Lee Picton are bidding to reshape the squad after missing out on promotion from the Evo-Stik Premier in the play-offs.
Along with Cogdon, Shields have released fellow frontman Connor Bell. Bell had joined on a short-term deal in February, scoring once in his 12 appearances.
