Gateshead assistant manager Ian Watson believes that Dillon Morse and Blair Adams can help push the current squad’s standards even further.
The pair signed on loan from Tyneside neighbours South Shields this week, and Watson told the Heed’s website:
“They’re going to add real quality to us, they’re going to push people for places and we just think that it’s going to improve us as a team.
“Sometimes a player will join in someone’s position and their standards might drop, but you have your characters who will push even harder because they don’t want to give their place up.
“That’s going to be interesting for us to see, but I don’t think the lads will go the first route, because we’ve got an unbelievable bunch of good characters in the team, so I think it will push people and raise our standards.”
