Southport have announced the addition of Anthony Evans as a new director.
Former Stockport County director Evans’ body of work includes time with civil engineering and groundworks specialist Conform North West and legal firm GT Law.
Setting up Southport-based IT specialist Techedia, he is currently chief executive of WARS Trading, which aims to transform the waste management sector by using new technologies and innovation to create clean energy.
Port director Ian Kyle told the club’s website: “Tony’s skills as an entrepreneur and his knowledge of the football boardroom mean he is uniquely placed to assist the current board as we look to emerge strongly from these challenging times. I am confident that how we have dealt with the last 12 months shows that we have a strong board in place, and Tony will now help us move forward and deliver a successful future for Southport FC.
“He has many ties and links with successful local, national and international businesses, which will create opportunities to establish new links and sponsorships to add to those businesses that have thankfully supported us for the last 12 months or longer.”
