The 20-year-old joins on a deal until 2nd January and is available to play in the Emirates FA Cup. He featured for Liam Watson’s squad in a behind-closed-doors training game against Huddersfield Town on Tuesday afternoon, capping his performance with an excellent goal from long range.
Wood joined Bolton on a one-year contract in the summer, featuring for their development squad having spent time as a youth player at Manchester City. Born in Sale, Wood played for City in the UEFA Youth League and has also represented England at under-18 and under-19 level.
Manager Liam Watson said: “We’re really excited to attract a player of Marcus’ quality, he’s a young lad with enormous talent and we’re delighted he’s signed. We’d like to thank Bolton for helping to make this deal happen and for allowing him to feature for us in the FA Cup.
“We’re still looking to strengthen the squad. We’ve highlighted a number of players who we want to add, Marcus being one of them, and we’re thrilled to have signed him.”
