Devarn Green has joined Southport on a two-year deal from Tranmere Rovers.
The 21-year-old started his career at Burton Albion before a move north to Blackburn Rovers as a 16-year-old. Progressing through their academy, he signed a professional contract with the East Lancashire outfit and later went on to have spells at Cardiff City and in non-league with Hednesford Town, Stourbridge and most recently Tranmere, who paid an undisclosed fee for his services back in October 2017.
On the capture, manager Liam Watson said: “Devarn was a key target of ours this summer and I’m delighted to secure his services. He’s an attack-minded player who is effective in the centre or on the wing and will be a great addition to our squad.”
Having signed for the Port, Green said: “I’m delighted to join Southport, I feel it’s a club with loads of positivity around it and huge ambition.
“Looking at some of the other signings the club have made I’m excited to get started.”
