Southport have confirmed the signing of midfielder Brad Jackson from Premier League side Burnley on a season-long loan agreement.
After starting his career at Wilmslow Town, Jackson joined Burnley and quickly made an impression as part of the under-18 side that beat Manchester United at Old Trafford.
He has played in first-team pre-season friendlies against Glasgow Rangers and St Mirren and also spent time on loan at Bangor City at the end of last season, making eleven appearances in all competitions for the Welsh Premier outfit.
Southport boss Alan Lewer said: “Brad’s a quick and lively player, he’s a fantastic prospect. We’re very lucky that he wanted to come on board with us at Southport, we know he had interest from National League clubs. He’s a versatile wide player that can play anywhere on the right-hand side so we’re very lucky to have those options with Brad”.
