Nathan Buddle has joined Spennymoor Town from fellow National League North side Blyth Spartans.
Buddle, 25, began his career with Hartlepool United before moving to Croft Park for the first of his three spells with the club.
The defender spent time at League Two side Carlisle, as well as playing in the same team as James Curtis, Rob Ramshaw and Jamie Chandler at Gateshead.
After joining the club, he said: “I’ve spoken to Jason on and off over the past few years, but the time hasn’t been right for both of us.
“Once I sat down with the management team after the play-off games, they really impressed me. I’ve always been aware of Spennymoor and the progress they have made, so now feels like the right time for me.
“The club want to keep moving up and I think we have a big chance of finishing near the top and maybe even winning the league.
“That is one of the main factors for me leaving Blyth. I’ve had a great time there and I have no regrets, but I feel like this is the next progression for me now.
“Hopefully I can contribute at both ends of the pitch and grab a few goals as well as keep clean sheets.”
