St Albans City say winger Ricky Shakes has retired from playing.

The former Bolton Wanderers and Swindon Town man had initially announced he would be stopping playing last year, in the weeks after the 2019/20 season was suspended.

In December, though, the ex-Ebbsfleet United and Boreham Wood player signed for National League South St Albans.

The 36-year-old, who played internationally for both Trinidad & Tobago and Guyana, has now called time on his playing days.

Shakes featured in detail on this site at the beginning of this year.
