St Neots Town striker Jevani Brown has completed a move to SkyBet League Two club Cambridge United.
Brown has signed a two-year deal after impressing Head Coach Shaun Derry during a trial period with the U’s.
The 22 year old began his career in Peterborough United’s academy before moving into non-league football.
He has played for the likes of Barton Rovers and Kettering Town and joined St Neots Town from Stamford AFC in December 2016.
Brown spent time on trial at EFL Championship club Birmingham City in March but was not offered a deal by the Blues.
However he has now moved into the Football League after putting pen-to-paper to join Cambridge United just days before the season gets underway.
Speaking to the U’s official website Brown described the club as “fantastic” but admitted that he faces a tough test to get into the starting line-up.
He said “Now that the deal is sorted my mind set has changed and I want to work just as hard at getting a place in the team.
“Having met all my team mates during the trial, I know how competitive it will be to earn a place in the squad, but I’m looking forward to it.
“Even before my time here I knew a few of the players already, but all of them have welcomed me into the squad brilliantly during pre-season and now that I am here, I couldn’t be any happier.
“This Club is fantastic at giving young men opportunities in the game and personally Cambridge United have provided me with a chance to test myself in the Football League and I can’t wait to get started.”
Brown could feature in the U’s League Two opener when they travel to Exeter City on Saturday.
