Corby Town striker Spencer Weir-Daley has joined Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division side Kettering Town on loan for the remainder of the 2015/16 season.

The 30-year-old ended last season at the Steelmen’s top scorer, however has netted just four times during an injury hit campaign so far.

Corby Town manager Tommy Wright said: “It’s been a tough year for Spencer. He had a bad pre-season with a couple of little injuries and he found himself out of the side when we brought Tshimanga in from MK Dons.

“He is a player that I worked very hard to bring in to the club, but sadly it hasn’t quite worked out this season.

“We have had a few centre-forwards but, at the same time, Spencer has still scored four goals and hasn’t started many games so his goals to starts ratio is good.

“I worked really hard to bring him to the club but it’s just not quite worked out this season. I think Spencer needs a new challenge and our squad could maybe do with a new face or two.”
