Out of the blue Tadcaster Albion striker Carl Stewart has chosen to leave the club not long after committing his future.
A statement on the club’s website read “It comes as a surprise to us after agreeing a deal for the new season however Stewart has decided to move on and play his football elsewhere.
“Stewart was prolific a couple seasons ago for The Brewers netting over 30 goals.
“Last season was tough for the forward after recovering from surgery following a nasty injury.
“Stewart has made a statement on the matter via his social media.
“I’d like to thank everyone at Tadcaster Albion for everything over the last few years, I’ve had a lot of unbelievable times and met some quality lads.
“Also I’d like to thank the TSC, best fans in non-league football. Get behind the lads in the Evo-Stik and go smash it.”
