Stockport County have brought back winger Danny Lloyd on loan from Salford City.
The 28-year-old Scouser was a resounding success in his season at County, scoring 29 goals and registering over 20 assists during 2016/17. He subsequently joined League One club Peterborough United on a three-year deal.
Having been with Salford City since July 2018, helping the Ammies reach the EFL, Lloyd returns to Edgeley Park with the club now back in the Vanarama National League. Manager Jim Gannon told the club website: “It’s great to have Danny back. I have watched his career since leaving here with great interest, and I believe of all the players that left in recent years, he was the best equipped to be a success.
“We have perhaps been afforded this unique opportunity to have Danny back because of the special relationship he has with the club. Even with the excitement of the recent takeover it is always difficult to convince players to come from higher levels, but Danny’s appetite to come and play for us was refreshing.”
