Maidstone United have announced that Saturday’s friendly against Concord Rangers is a pay what you like match, with proceeds going towards the Stand up for the Stones fundraiser.
Whether you’re a regular at the Gallagher Stadium or just want to experience a match at the home of the Stones – this is an ideal opportunity to do so.
Turnstiles open at 12:30 and all you have to do is make a donation as you come through. Once inside you’ll have the chance to purchase a ticket for the season opener against York City, visit the club shop or get a bite to eat before kick off.
Club chief executive Bill Williams said: “This is the first time we’ve done a pay what you like game but it’s an excellent opportunity to do so.
“In one way it’s a thank you to all those who’ve followed the Stones in recent years and been part of the success we’ve enjoyed in that time. In another way it’s great for people who’ve never been before to come and try it at a price that suits them.
“Whatever your reasons, all contributions to the fund would be gratefully received. We’re edging ever closer towards the £10,000 mark and this would be a chance to get us there.”
Stand up for the Stones is a fundraising campaign where supporters and others can make a contribution towards the cost of the new terraced stand that will be built during the season. The stand is vital to achieving the 4,000 capacity that is required for membership of the Vanarama National League.
