Maidstone United have signed striker Joe Pigott on loan from League Two side Cambridge United.

The 23-year-old, who was born in Maidstone, will be with the Stones until the end of the season.

Pigott joined The U’s last summer after his release from Charlton Athletic.

He spent the 2015/16 campaign on loan at Southend United and Luton Town, scoring 9 goals in forty-three appearances.

During his first loan spell at Southend, he wrote his name into Shrimpers folklore after scoring a goal in added time of extra-time in the 2015 League Two play-off final against Wycombe Wanderers at Wembley. He also scored from the spot in the 7-6 penalty shoot-out win.

He has also made loan appearances for Bromley, Gillingham and Newport County in recent years.
