Maidstone United’s Gallagher Stadium has been chosen to host this season’s Kent Reliance Senior Cup Final.

Dover Athletic will play Welling United on Bank Holiday Monday 1 May, with a 15:00 kick off. The Whites will be looking to secure the cup for an eighth time, while The Wings will make it four wins if they are successful on the day.

The competition, which has been going for more than 125 years, is contested by the senior clubs in the county. With 16 victories, the Stones are the current record holders but you have to go back to the 1989/90 season for the last time a Maidstone team lifted the senior cup trophy.

Stones chief executive Bill Williams said: “We’re delighted to be hosting this season’s final. With the investment that’s been made at the Gallagher this season, it will be great to showcase our stadium through this competition. Having had an association with both finalists during my career, I’ll definitely be down to watch.”
