Stourbridge midfielder Leon Broadhurst made his 700th appearance for Stour in Saturday’s game at Workington.
The popular midfielder, who first joined the Glassboys in the summer of 2003, has been a wonderful servant to the Club over the subsequent years and has been part of their rise from the Midland Alliance to Step 3.
“It’s a fantastic achievement and I definitely feel like there are a few more appearances left in the legs so hopefully 700 is just the start!” Broadhurst told Black Country Radio’s Adam Parkes.
“I went on trial at Bromsgrove Rovers when Gary (Hackett) was the manager there and when he took over at Stourbridge he invited me down to train. The rest, as they say, is history.
“The club has progressed every year. We’ve got a fantastic backing now, a brilliant fan base and it shows how far we’ve come.
“Stourbridge is a special and unique club. What we’ve been able to achieve is down to Gary, the staff and the hard work from the players.
“There is a great respect around the club and you are very well looked after by Non-League standards. I can’t speak highly enough of the club.”
