Owen Howe has revealed that a training ground bust-up led to his departure from Tiverton Town.

The striker, who made his debut for the Yellows when he was 16, shocked fans last week when he announced he would be leaving his hometown club.

He said: “I’ve always got along with Martyn (Rogers), and he’s always done me well, but we had a training ground bust-up and a little argument and he decided to get rid of me because of it.

“We had a great season last year with promotion and it’s just sad that it’s come to an end the way it did, but he’s the manager, it’s his decision.

“I’m a Tiverton lad, I’ve always had the fans behind me and I’ve got along with all the lads.”
