Hyde United have made striker Mike Norton as the latest addition to the squad.
A prolific scorer locally for more than a decade, he is rightfully hailed as a legend at Curzon Ashton and FC United of Manchester, where he helped both clubs reach the Second Round of The FA Cup by claiming the winning goals against Exeter and Rochdale, respectively.
Starting out playing for East Manchester FC in the Manchester League, before John Flanagan took him to Woodley Sports, ‘Norts’ then notched over 50 goals in the 2007/08 season for Curzon Ashton under former Hyde boss, Gary Lowe, before hitting the net almost 100 times for FC United over a five year spell.
He was reunited with Curzon and John Flanagan halfway through last season, and now joins Hyde as they look to make an instant return to the Evo-Stik NPL’s top tier.
