Chelmsford City manager Rod Stringer discussed the 3-1 defeat to National League South leaders Torquay United with the club’s ClaretsTV.
The Clarets’ unbeaten run was put to an end last night as Torquay United went seven points clear at the top of the National League South.
“I thought that we were very good in the first half,” Stringer said. “There were plenty of positive situations and I thought we played well.”
“We kept the ball well and showed a bit of character at 1-0 down to come back and equalise. I looked at us at half-time and thought we could get something out of this, but you have to give credit to Torquay.
“They’ve come out of the blocks in the second half and we made too many mistakes and turned the ball over too cheaply. Against teams like that, they smell and see it and they don’t let you off.
“Torquay have scored two goals in the six-yard box. They play as a team and I think maybe sometimes we play more for ourselves.”
