There was bad news for AFC Sudbury Manager Jamie Godbold and all AFC supporters but most of all for the man himself.

Midfield man Erkan Okay has reported that the knee injury that has kept him out of action since January is more serious than first thought.

Erkan told the news via Twitter “Disappointed to say after further tests on my knee I will be out for the rest of the season and more due to cruciate ligament damage.

Going to London in a few weeks to see how bad the damage is. I am truly gutted and devastated but will fight to come back and play again.”

Erkan joined AFC in early December 2016 from Cambridge City and played only five games before picking up the injury against another of his former clubs, Lowestoft Town on 2nd January this year.
