AFC Sudbury of the Isthmian League Division One North have parted company with their management team of Jamie Godbold and Andy Reynolds despite a comprehensive victory over Brentwood Town this week.

Second-half goals by Jake Turner (68), Mekhi McKenzie (72) and Adam Mills (89) secured Sudbury a first league win of the season on Tuesday night, by a 3-0 scoreline at home to their fellow strugglers, but Godbold has left the Suffolk club.

A club statement was issued: ‘AFC Sudbury Board of Directors have decided that it is in the best interest of the club to relieve the first team management of their duties with immediate effect.

‘The club would like to put on record their thanks to Jamie Godbold and Andy Reynolds for the tireless hours they have put into the club over the past couple of years. This period saw the first team promoted to the Isthmian Premier League for the first time in its history.

‘However, following relegation and a poor start to the current season, the Board felt a change was necessary.’
