AFC Sudbury manager Jamie Godbold has announced that striker Luke Callander has left the Ryman League Premier Division club to join Bishop`s Stortford.

Godbold said: “We received an offer from Bishop’s Stortford on Friday, and having been in discussions with Cally, agreed that it was a good time to move on.

“This season so far has been a frustrating one through injury and being unable to cement a regular starting position, and he feels he is at the stage of his career where he wants to play every game.

“Luke was influential in Sudbury being promoted last season and we will always be grateful for his contribution. He goes with our best wishes and hope he continues to score goals at a higher level.”

Callander signed for Sudbury in March 2015 from Chelmsford City and during his time with the club, helped them win promotion last season from Ryman North to the Ryman Premier, scoring 24 goals on the way.

In total, he has made eighty-seven appearances and scored an impressive 40 goals
