Macclesfield Town have announced that winger Chris Sutherland has signed a contract extension with the Silkmen.
The 20-year-old first arrived at the Moss Rose on a short-term deal back in December after parting ways with Ashton United.
Sutherland has previously featured for Oldham Athletic, before a loan spell at Barrow and a stint with Birmingham City upon his release.
The former Latics man had been struggling with injuries before his switch to Macc, but manager John Askey decided to bring him in on trial and he liked what he saw.
Since signing for Macclesfield three months ago, Sutherland has made four appearances in the National League against Aldershot, Forest Green Rovers, Kidderminster Harriers and most recently in the 0-0 draw away at Altrincham.
A direct, quick and powerful winger, Sutherland is a player who can help bolster the Silkmen’s attacking threat from midfield in the final stages of the season.
