Kevin Amankwah and Bedsenti Gomis are the latest players to commit themselves to Sutton United for next season
Manager Paul Doswell was delighted to secure both players for next season: “Kevin has been consistently good this season and has shown in the last two months his quality in defending and also putting in some great crosses from wide.
“His understanding with Tom Bolinarwa in particular has been a real feature
of our play recently and since Kevin has come back from his calf injury, and Tom has settled, we have seen a real chemistry down that side. Kevin is another example of how working hard and being a really good team member has benefitted the club this season.”
Bedsi Gomis is another to agree an extension for next season.
“We were disappointed to lose Bedsi at the end of last season but understood his reasons for wanting to return to France. He now has his family over here and having his wife and young child with him has meant he’s very settled now and is delighted to sign for another year. He really feels that the club can keep progressing and wants to be a part of that. Unfortunately, he’s been very ill this week with a sickness bug and won’t be fit this weekend, but signing the new deal has been a good end to the week for him.
“I think what this shows with these two latest players to commit is a real desire to keep this team together and I’m delighted that Kevin and Bedsi feel the same. This is the best squad in my time at Sutton and I emphasise the word Squad. They work so hard together and their desire and enthusiasm have shone through and even those on the bench or injured have shown great support to the team cause. That’s unusual in football but team spirit is vital and we have that in abundance!”
