Sutton United winger Roarie Deacon has completed a move to Scottish Premier League club Dundee.

Deacon spent time with the likes of Arsenal and Sunderland earlier in his career, but didn’t make a first team appearance for either the club.

After leaving the Stadium of Light club in 2013 he moved to SkyBet League One club Stevenage and made his professional debut as a substitute in a 1-0 win against Hartlepool United.

At the end of the 2013/14 season, Deacon penned a new deal at Broadhall Way and by the end of the following season he had made forty six appearances for the Boro.

At the start of the 2015/16 season he left the club to join Crawley on a one-year deal.

His stay with the Reds lasted just one season and he moved into non-league football with Vanarama National League newcomers Sutton United, making his debut in their 3-1 home defeat on the opening day of last season.

However, it was in the FA Cup where both Deacon and Sutton rose to prominance.

Having scored the winner in their Fourth Qualifying Round win over Forest Green Rovers, the winger scored twice in the 6-3 First Round win against Dartford.

That set up a Second Round tie against Cheltenham Town, and again Deacon was the matchwinner, scoring a late winner in a 2-1 win over the Robins.

Round Three saw the U’s take AFC Wimbledon to a replay, with Deacon finding the net once again as they saw off the SkyBet League One side at the second attempt.

The club hit the national headlines with a 1-0 win over Championship club Leeds united in the Fourth Round, with Deacon featuring heavily, hitting the crossbar and playing a key role in winning the penalty that eventually won the tie.

Their run came to an end against one of Deacon’s former clubs, as Arsenal killed the dream with a 2-0 win at Green Gander Lane.

But Deacon had done enough during the run to attract interest from several Football League clubs.

But it is SPL club Dundee that have won the race for his signature and the twenty five year old has penned a two year deal at Dens Park.
