Striker Connor Taylor says the Lambs must be ready to step things up for a ‘defining festive period’.

Tamworth head to Bradford Park Avenue on Saturday before a home clash with Leamington and Christmas double-header against local rivals Nuneaton.

“It’s going to be a defining period for us,” Taylor admitted. “In previous seasons, it’s fair to say we have been in a great position going into Christmas and come out of the period in a worse situation.

“Maybe this time we are not quite where we were or want to be. So hopefully, law of averages, we can come out of this period in a better place.”

“It’s important for us to get some wins and certainly it would give all the fans a lift if we could win the derby games.

“The Nuneaton games are never easy ones because of the rivalry. They will be fired up, as will we, and if we can come out of them with some wins we can be right up there heading into the new year.”
