Andy Burns admits Tamworth need to string an unbeaten run of five or six games together if they are not to face a season of disappointment.
The Lambs find themselves eight points off the top seven and only five off the bottom three after an inconsistent campaign. They have failed to string back-to-back wins together since September when they defeated Spennymoor and Kidderminster.
Their performance in the 2-1 win over Harriers back then was, says Burns, a level they have to get back to. And with games against York, Alfreton and Blyth coming up in quick succession, the Lambs need to hit those heights now.
“We have got a pretty tough run coming up,” he said. “We still have the belief in the dressing room that we can catch the sides above us if we string a good run together now.”
“Anything can still happen. There are a lot of games left and there are points to be clawed back.
“But we know we have to get on a run sooner rather than later. We know what we have to do and hopefully it starts on Saturday against York.”
