Tamworth FC boss Mike Fowler believes the signing of Jas Singh illustrates the Lambs desire to win the Southern Premier next season.
Former Shrewsbury, Kidderminster Harriers, Solihull Moors and AFC Telford keeper Singh joined the Lambs this week and Fowler is hoping the move will rectify the club’s goalkeeping issues. The Lambs endured a difficult time last season while using loan keepers Shaun Rowley and Jack Stevens, as well as under-21s keeper Dan Jezeph.
It made a new keeper a priority and Fowler is delighted to have snared Singh.
“I sympathised with Jurgen Klopp on Saturday,” said Fowler. “We might not have played in a Champions League final but we had some key games last season where goalkeeper mistakes cost us dearly.
“To me, it highlighted how important that position is and it made that a priority for me, Tim (Harris) and Paul (Green). We met a few goalkeepers to get to know them. You can never know too much about their characters.
“But Jas was always the number one target for us and when we started dialogue it was always positive.”
