Darryl Knights has become the latest new addition to Tamworth`s 2017/18 squad, and the first who was not part of the side last season.

Knights, 29, is a versatile attacker who can operate in various different positions in the top half of the pitch.

Commenting on the signing, Tamworth boss Andy Morrell said: “He is a really clever footballer with a lovely touch. He has great attacking attributes but also, defensively, understands roles and responsibilities. He is also as fit as a fiddle – he is a personal trainer- and has good experience whose knowledge will rub off on the younger lads. I am really pleased to have him on board.”

Knights spent 2016/17 with league rivals Kidderminster Harriers after winning the division in 2015/16 with Solihull Moors.

A graduate of Ipswich Town’s youth academy, he has plenty of experience with the likes of Yeovil Town, Cambridge United, and Newport County.
