Torquay United have announced changes in the club’s structure that will ‘provide fresh support to bring success to our first-team and enhance the progress of players within our Football Development Programme.’

Manager Gary Owers will oversee all football matters at the club, ‘allowing us to set in place a structure and philosophy that remains consistent for all players at Torquay United.’

Shaun Taylor is the new assistant manager to the first-team, resuming the role he undertook during the tenure of Martin Ling as boss. Taylor will also remain as a head of coaching for the Football Development Programme.

Dave Hedges will become the new head of youth in the club’s Football Development Programme, whilst still working as head of recruitment, using his knowledge and contacts to build a strong and stable youth structure. The Vanarama National League South club are now actively recruiting for a new assistant head of youth to support Dave Hedges and work with the Under-18 side at Torquay Academy.

Kelly Roberts will be in charge of all administration for the Football Development Programme.
