Paul Taylor has resigned as chairman of Whickham with immediate effect.
Taylor, who replaced Brian McCartney three years ago, is stepping down to focus on work and personal commitments.
He said: “It’s with regret that I have decided to resign as the chairman of Whickham FC. This is down to a combination of my personal situation and also a need to focus on my business.
“This isn’t a decision I have taken lightly. I have been proud to be chairman of the club for the last three years and work alongside some fantastic, committed people.
“Seeing the club promoted into Division One for the first time in more than 20 years is something that will stay with me.”
