Frustrated though he has been to miss out, Harrogate Town’s Ryan Fallowfield says he has no issue with Simon Weavers’s decision to leave him on the sidelines in recent weeks.

The 24-year-old right-back made his first National League appearance since late November when he came on as a half-time substitute during Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Aldershot.

He did get 90 minutes in last month’s FA Trophy success over Darlington, but that was the only time the former Hull City trainee has featured in a competitive fixture since being hauled off at the interval with Town trailing Hartlepool United 2-0 on December 14.

Fallowfield has however taken it all on the chin.

“It has been frustrating, but it’s up to the gaffer to pick the team which he thinks has the best chance of winning each game,” he said.

“I can’t take anything away from Alex Bradley [the man occupying Fallowfield’s usual spot] or from the team. They have been absolutely flying.”
