Gavin Cowan is relishing the project that lies ahead of him at AFC Telford United after signing a two-year contract with the club, the Shropshire Star say.

The Bucks boss who has masterminded a stellar season so far is remaining focused on the run-in, but admitted you have to have one eye on the future.

He said: “It is good obviously, we want to look forward and build together. I was not under contract previously but we’ve been talking for a long time and thought it was a good time to get it done and dusted.

“The expectation will be higher now but nothing will change, we will be focused on this season and hopefully trying to get into the league above.

“We want to build and keep the energy the club has had.”
