AFC Telford United have announced that they will host England Under 20s friendly against the Netherlands later this month.
The fixture will take place on Thursday 31st August and will be the first at Under 20s level since the Three Lions youngsters secured a famous World Cup Final win over Venezuela in June.
This will not be the first time that the New Bucks Head has been chosen to host and England fixture.
In September 2016 the Bucks hosted an Under 19 friendly between England and the Netherlands, with the hosts coming out on top after a penalty shoot-out.
Everton’s highly-rated midfielder Tom Davies gave the Three Lions the lead and seemed set to be the match-winner until Justin Hoogma grabbed an equaliser six minutes from time.
Aston Villa defender Easah Suliman scored the decisive spot kick and England came out on top.
Speaking to the AFC Telford United website, Bucks chairman Andy Pryce said “It’s great that The Football Association have chosen the New Bucks Head as the venue for this U20s fixture.
“We will no doubt put on a great showcase event and look forward to continuing our excellent working relationship with those at The FA.”
Tickets are to be made available at the New Bucks Head reception between 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday, by calling 01952 640064 or online at www.ticketsource.co.uk/afctelfordutd
