Leatherhead boss Nikki Bull has warned his players they need to “get ten points out of the next four games or forget about the play-offs”.
The Tanners boss had gone on record a month ago to say he had given up hope of finishing anywhere near the top five but that was before signing some quality players in recent weeks – men he believes will make the difference, including Dartford striker Charlie Sheringham who is on dual registration.
Not content with just one target, Bull is also after cup success and wants to create history by winning the Surrey Senior Cup for the first time in the club’s recent history – the one success coming against Redhill in 1968/69 with a 3-1 win. The Tanners disposed of South Park 4-0 in Tuesday night’s quarter-final, Sheringham scoring twice while Daniel Rowe and Kudus Oyenuga also notched.
“This club has never been in the play-offs, never been in the league above and not won the Surrey Senior Cup in recent times,” said Bull. “When I came to the club I did some research and I’d like to create history.”
