Despite being named the Vanarama National League South’s player of the month for his performances in January, Weymouth star Abdulai Baggie says he wants to “score more goals”.
The Sierra Leonean danger man has been in devastating form for Weymouth, scoring 11 goals and providing seven assists for his teammates this season.
Three of those goals came in January, including a 95th-minute winner against Dorking, securing the 27-year-old the league’s player of the month award.
But Baggie is not thinking too much about this achievement, instead he is focused on maintaining his form and setting himself new targets.
He said: “I think to be honest I haven’t thought of it really.
“The games come thick and fast and you just have to take it one game at a time so I don’t really look too far ahead.
“The targets for me are to try and score and assist in every game, I love to contribute towards the team.”
