Gloucester City in their first match in the Vanarama National League South were defeated 2-0 to Chelmsford City after conceding early and late in the game.
Tim Harris saw his side lose away at Chelmsford City, after Kudus Oyenuga grabbed both goals in the opening game.
The Tigers boss told the club’s website about the positives he took from their performance.
“The back four worked well for the most part and I don’t really remember Alex Harris having too many saves to make either so all in all it was a good physical battle out there.
He added: “Unfortunately with a few minutes left we’re pushing bodies forward and you ask players to make decisions and at 2-0 the game was over even though we had a few chances to get back into it but we never really forced the ‘keeper into many worthwhile saves.”
“Make no bones about it they’re a good, big & strong side. I thought as the game went on we looked like we were going to get something back out of the game.
Gloucester City conceded the first goal after 90 seconds something Harris did not find acceptable.
“We get the reports and we know they’ve got a long throw and we didn’t deal with it and all of a sudden two minutes into the game we’re 1-0 down.”
