Martyn Rogers says he expects his Tiverton Town budget for next season to remain largely similar to what it is now.

The Yellows finished sixth in their first season back at Southern League level, with the five teams above them all having much larger budgets. Yet lower-than-expected attendances have put paid to Rogers’ hopes that his budget could increase next season.

He said: “I can’t pre-judge anything but I’ve been more or less told that the budget will be very similar to last year.

“I can understand that, I think we were expecting a lot more through the turnstiles and it’s something that needs to be discussed.

“I think we’ll have to do one or two things a bit different next year but early indications are that my budget will be very similar to what it was last year.

“That’s doable, you always want more as a manager but I think things were quite tight at the end of the season, which was due to the weather.”
