Minus suspended strikers Elliott Romain and Rhys Healey, Torquay United put their National League survival hopes back on the line against seventh-placed AFC Fylde at Plainmoor tonight (7.45pm) with head coach Gary Owers targeting at least four wins from the Gulls’ last five matches.

United face Fylde’s Danny Rowe, the most deadly goalscorer in English football’s lower divisions, just after losing two of their own best strikers, after the Football Association rejected their appeal against Romain’s straight red card in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Dover Athletic.

Romain is now out for three matches and Healey, who was sent off for two cautions, is banned for one game.
