Torquay United defender Sean McGinty has left Plainmoor and moved north of the border to Scottish Championship club Partick Thistle.
McGinty, 24, has signed a two-year contract at Firhill after making 97 appearances in two years at Plainmoor. The former Charlton Athletic, Manchester United, Sheffield United and Aldershot Town player had been an ever-present in the Gulls team relegated to the National League South last season.
McGinty was also made captain by United head coach Gary Owers, who had offered him a new deal at the end of the campaign.
McGinty always looked likely to reject that contract, attractive as it was, because he did not want to drop down to the NL South.
