(From Devon Live) Manager Gary Johnson says that winning the National League South with Torquay United would be just as good as the five other promotions he has won in his 30-year career, and victory at title rivals Woking on Saturday (3pm) would all but seal the deal.

The Gulls, who will be cheered on by 1,400 fans, take a seven-point lead to Kingfield’s Laithwaite Community Stadium with only four more games to follow – all less than seven months after Johnson took over a team in the bottom half of the table.

“It’s not possible for us to win it at Woking, and it won’t be done until it’s mathematically certain – you never celebrate until then,” said a man who has only Cardiff City’s Neil Warnock in front of him in promotions won among current domestic league managers.

“This is your actual six-pointer, isn’t it, and everyone has been looking forward to this game for a long time.”
