Torquay United have confirmed the loan signing of Cheltenham central defender Alex Davey.

Davey, 22, joins from the Robins on loan until the beginning of January, having impressed Torquay United head coach Gary Owers in a recent friendly.

He spent his youth career with Chelsea before loan moves to Scunthorpe United, Peterborough United, Stabæk, and Crawley Town.

“We’re going to bring Alex in until January. A centre-half but also a holding midfield player,” said Torquay United head coach, Gary Owers.

“At 6’3, I think we could be missing a little bit of a physical presence in certain areas of the pitch so hopefully he will do well for us.”
