Rumours of a possible takeover of Torquay United by Truro City owner Peter Masters are being emphatically denied by Gulls officials.
There has been some speculation on social media that relegation-haunted United, who will try to lift their National League survival hopes against Leyton Orient in London tonight, might be sold by owner/chairman Clarke Osborne, and Masters has been touted as a potential buyer.
Osborne was unavailable for comment, but general manager Geoff Harrop said: “As far as I am aware, there is no truth in it at all.
“We have had no indications along those lines from Clarke, and it is business as usual.”
