A Plainmoor collection for former Torquay United midfielder Damon Lathrope, who has been forced to retire after suffering a broken leg playing for the Cards, has raised £1,211.
The 28-year-old suffered ‘life changing’ injuries after breaking his leg for Woking, Monday’s Gulls opponents. In only his fourth game for his new club, against Boreham Wood, he suffered a badly broken leg which caused ‘life changing damage to a number of major arteries and veins’.
Lathrope immediately announced his retirement from football.
