Macclesfield Town have confirmed that midfielder Danny Rowe has signed for Championship side Ipswich Town.

The winger has made the switch after the two club’s agreed an undisclosed fee and has signed a deal that will keep him at Portman Road until the summer of 2020.

Rowe’s move is reward for a terrific first half of the season for John Askey’s men.

He has played in twenty-nine games for the Silkmen this term, scoring 7 goals.

The attacking midfielder started his career at Stockport County, making over fifty appearances for them when they were in the Football League and Conference.

Rowe then made the move to Barrow AFC in the 2012/13 season and made forty appearances for the Bluebirds before joining Macclesfield during the summer of 2013.

He made twenty-eight appearances at the Moss Rose that season, and after a brief spell away from the game, he re-joined the Silkmen at the start of 2015 and has been a first-team regular since.

Across his three spells with the club he made a total of 119 appearances, scoring 15 goals for Macclesfield, and he will now look to make an impact in the second tier for the Tractor Boys.
