The generosity of Tranmere Rovers supporters has helped to raise more than £6,000 for charity organisations from ground collections held at first team matches so far this season.

This figure sees a 300% increase upon the amount which was raised from collections at Prenton Park throughout the entire 2014-15 season, and there are still seven home matches still remaining this season.

Beneficiaries from the donations include TS Blackburn Sea Cadets, Defence Medical Welfare Service, Dave Phillips Trust, Clare Callow Trust Fund, Royal British Legion, Family Tree Support Group St Cath’s, Woodchurch Phoenix Majorettes, British Red Cross, Mencap and Clatterbridge Cancer Centre.

Alongside the £10,000 which has been raised for the #SWA2 ticketing initiative, this demonstrates the fantastic community spirit among the Tranmere Rovers supporters in helping charitable causes.

The Club would like to publicly thank all supporters for their generous donations to the collections so far this season. At Saturday’s home match against Cheltenham Town, there will be a collection in aid of Wirral CP Boxing Club.
