Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Ramsbottom United are holding open trials as they get to work on bouncing back from relegation.
Relegated from the Evo-Stik NPL’s top flight on Tuesday night after their 2-0 reverse at Matlock Town, the Lancashire club’s coaches have announced they are staging an open trial game for their U18s and U21s sides at the Harry Williams Riverside Stadium on Sunday 24 April.
Potential players should register their interest in advance by emailing Wayne Goodison at firstname.lastname@example.org stating their date of births, current age group, preferred playing position, recent playing history and contact details.
Once registered, players should meet at the ground at 10am for the 11.30pm kick-off. Officials say match kit will be supplied on the day but players should still bring full training kit and boots.
Ramsbottom United secretary Tony Cunningham said all their coaches are looking forward to running the rule over the next generation.
He said: “Anyone who wishes to play at a good standard with the chance to develop and represent the first team at semi–professional level in the Evo Stik League is welcome to register and come along to take part.
“This season has seen three boys from our U18 squads progress through to the first team and also gain representative honours for the Manchester and Lancashire FA sides with one boy also gaining full England honours at U18 level. In addition, a further five players under the age of 21 have been regular members of the first team throughout the 2015-16 season.”
