Dave Frecklington likened Kidderminster Harriers to Barcelona after they strolled to a comfortable 3-0 win over his Gainsborough Trinity side.

The Trinity boss was full of praise for the Worcestershire outfit after three second-half goals from Joe Ironside, Fraser Horsfall and Declan Weeks meant his team returned home empty-handed.

The Blues had held their own for the first game, but the quality of the opposition eventually told and Frecklington said he had no qualms about being beaten by the better side.

“Let’s not beat around it, what a side they are,” he told the club’s official Youtube channel.

“We knew what they were all about, but that was a different level in what we were up against.

“They are like a non-league Barcelona the way they play – it doesn’t matter how you set up. We had to change formation three times to try and tackle it.

He added: “In every position they are really strong and my team can use it as a learning exercise as that is the level if you want to get promoted.”
