Truro City manager Lee Hodges was delighted to see his side make a return to winning ways with their 2-1 Bank Holiday Monday victory over Weston-super-Mare.

“The level of performance was the same as the last three games, but this time we were able to get the victory,” he told his club`s official website. “We’ve done well in pretty much every game this season; we’ve been consistent in our displays and on Monday we got our reward.

“Even on Saturday against a strong Chelmsford City side, we were still in the game thanks to the performance of Tom McHale and at 0-0 we had a good chance to get our noses in front.

“But after a long journey on Saturday, it was nice to return to home soil and get three points on Monday.

“The fans really got behind us and although it became a little bit edgy in the final ten minutes or so after they pulled a goal back, we were able to see it out and get the points.

“The players stayed really strong and battled well, particularly after the disappointment of our previous two home games where we haven’t got what we deserved.

“It will now give us a lift to take into two tough away games on the road, but we know what we are capable of and we look forward to the challenge that they will present”.
