Plymouth Argyle striker Luke Jephcott has been named as the EFL’s Young Player of the Month for January, a month which saw the 20-year-old score five goals in five appearances.

The youngster started the season on loan at Southern League Premier South side Truro City, but following a string of good performances was recalled at the start of the new year by manager Ryan Lowe.

Jephcott was thrown straight in at the deep end but paid his manager back in style with four goals in his first two games, and the forward says he is delighted to receive the award after winning the Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month award for January as well.
